This spectacular tour combines most scenic elevations of the coast and turbulent 1.000 years long history of Montenegrin country – starting from Kotor, over Budva all the way up to conquer Mt. Lovćen, visit to Old Royal Capital Cetinje, food degustation at village Njeguši (where the best prosciutto is made) and finally – bird’s eye vintage point above huge Boka Bay.
We start from Kotor and just 30 minutes of drive along the coast takes us to another world – Budva.
Budva is known as the most visited and most modern costal city in Montenegro. Besides attracting the tourists with its long and beautiful beaches and marvelous Old Town, this “queen of tourism” is also known by its diverse and crazy night life.
From here we continue our tour driving up the mountain of Lovćen in order to reach Old Royal Capital Cetinje and to catch stunningview of Budva Riviera for which we make a photo stop at the best vintage point.
After 40 minutes of this panoramic drive, we finally reach Cetinje, the town where most important history of Montenegro was created.
Cetinje at its best glory was the capital of Montenegro for 500 years, when, after WW2, lifelong president of Yugoslavia, Tito pronounced Podgorica as capital and rename it to Titograd.
With numerous historical buildings, museums, music, art and acting school, monuments from different time periods, even with losing its capital status, Cetinje remain to be center of culture, history and education.
During our walking tour, we get to walk the main pedestrian zone, and see the true Montenegrin architecture.
From Cetinje we drive through the rocky sloops of Mt. Lovćen to the most famous village called Njeguši, known by domestic products and among many, the best prosciutto (smoked ham) in region. Every house is a small “factory” of excellent ham and cheese, and we don’t miss our opportunity to try some.
30 minutes brake is just right to eat and relax breathing the fresh mountain air.
Drive from the mountain down to Kotor is known as everybody’s favorite part of the tour – we enjoy the most stunning view of Boka Bay from more than 1.000 meters above sea level!
We make two photo stops to capture this magnificent beauty.
It is truly breathtaking!
In our final destination, Kotor, we do quick walking tour around the city. The famous Old Town carries burden of 2.000 years long history, starting with ancient Illyrians, Romans, Byzantines, over Serbians, Venetians, Austro-Hungarians and finally Montenegrins.
We’ll visit six most important sites with our professional tour guide – Square of Arms, Flower Square, St. Tryphone square, Museum Square, St. Luke’s and Blessed Osanna square.
